Who may experience a sunrise on Breiðamerkursandur in winter, will be staggered by this scene. You can find the most beautiful pieces of ice sparkling (að glampa) in the red light of the rising sun. Lapped by the rough sea, which is responsible for a constantly changing scenery, minute by minute. New ice flakes are washed up on the beach, old ones are falling apart.It is really beautiful to watch this circle of nature, just interrupted by more or less skillful jumps aside when the next wave once again proves greater than intended. But who cares about wet shoes, when nature performs such a spectacle...
